Cyberpunk 2077 Has Gone Gold

The holy relic of gamers & Keanu Reeves aficionados has finally come to fruition, ahead of its November 19th release. Cyberpunk 2077 is officially ready in its final form for you to consume & enjoy;, it will continue to tease you behind bulletproof glass until the actual release date.

When a game “goes gold”, it means the consumer release version of the video game is complete & ready for distribution. This is a great sign that the release date is actually locked in & you can safely say there would be no more delays. The production of physical copies of that game can begin. In this case, Cyberpunk 2077 can be put into something physical more powerful to its fanbase than Walter White’s Blue Sky.

To note, when a game does go gold, it does not mean development is over for that title. Developers on Cyberpunk 2077 are most likely working on last minute bug fixes & alterations for the inevitable day one patch. Also, to note, Cyberpunk 2077 will be complimented with free DLC, multiplayer, & paid expansions. This ensures that work on Cyberpunk 2077 will not be complete for quite some time. You’ll get your greedy augmented hands on it in a month or so, but it will keep growing before your very own eyes like a robot-hybrid chia pet on steroids.

Not to rain on the parade in Night City, but it is also important to remember the strain this type of work puts on the developers. It was recently reported that mandatory weekend crunch was instituted by CD Projekt Red after they had pledged against mandatory crunch on Cyberpunk 2077. Studio head Adam Badowski responded to the criticism of the crunch, saying "it was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make", but stating Cyberpunk's developers would be compensated for every extra hour they put in.

It’s almost rhetorical to ask if you’re ready to take on Night City with Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, you are ready. Your heart is racing at an unhealthy BPM just reading this right now. Well, you won’t have to wait much longer, as Cyberpunk will be ready to take your breath away on November 19th, 2020.
